Terms and Conditions

1.

The Championship

Entry into and participation in The Alternative Championship Team Edition 2026 Event (the “Event”) is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

2.

Who can enter?

Entry into the Event is by purchasing a ticket at https://events.humanitix.com/the-alternative-championship

Entry is open to Australian residents aged 13 years and older. Entrants under the age of 18 must have parent or legal guardian approval to enter.

You are not eligible to enter if you are a member of the immediate family of an employee of the Organiser, any event or prize sponsor, or their related corporations or agencies.

3.

Event

The Event involves a team-based competition (with up to three people per team, each team classified as one “Entrant”) to be held at Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters 4/29-33 Bourke Rd, Alexandria NSW 2015, Australia on Thursday the 11thJune 2026.

A schedule will be publicised on the Humanitix Event page at least 2 weeks prior to the Event. Event will be points-based with rounds focused on coffee and other types of beverages, testing overall barista skills including presentation (latte art), sensory and service skills.

Prior to the commencement of the Event, Entrants will be given a detailed briefing on rounds, points, machinery, tools and raw materials as well as a rundown of the schedule, judges etc.

4.

Prizes

There are three prizes to be won. The winning Entrants will win:

1st Place: $1,000 prepaid debit card (per team member)

2nd Place: $600 prepaid debit card (per team member)

3rd Place: $300 prepaid debit card (per team member)

(each, a Prize).

Additional gift packs or prizes may be awarded at the discretion of partnering sponsors or venues.

5.

How do I enter?

To enter the Event and be eligible to win, you must:

  • Step 1: Form your team: Teams are required to register with three (3) eligible team members. Select a team name and nominate one member to purchase the ticket and register for the Event on behalf of the team. The nominated team member must have the consent of all team members (including parental/guardian consent where applicable).
  • Step 2: Register your entry: Visit the Championship Humanitix page athttps://events.humanitix.com/the-alternative-championship page prior to the Event to purchase a ticket and register your team. Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. By purchasing a ticket, Entrants agree to be bound by the Humanitix Terms and Conditions, which apply in addition to these Terms and Conditions.

The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to permit a team to participate with fewer than three (3) members in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

  • Step 2: Register your entry: Visit the Championship Humanitix page athttps://events.humanitix.com/the-alternative-championship page prior to the Event to purchase a ticket and register your team. Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. By purchasing a ticket, Entrants agree to be bound by the Humanitix Terms and Conditions, which apply in addition to these Terms and Conditions.

For the avoidance of doubt, if there are any inconsistencies, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail over the Humanitix Terms and Conditions to the extent of the inconsistency.

  • Step 3: Confirm registration and communications: Following registration of your team, you must check the nominated email address for confirmation, instructions, and any further information or actions required by the Organiser. You are responsible for providing a valid and regularly monitored email address, as all communications regarding the Event will be sent to that address.

If an Entrant is unable to attend and/or participate in the Event, the Entrant is entitled to email the Organiser through the Humanitix website prior to Wednesday 10th of June 2026 and request a refund for the team ticket.

6.

Can I enter multiple times?

Only one entry is permitted per team.

7.

Winner selection

This is a game of skill and winners will be selected based on entrants demonstrating barista skill at the Event. Entrants will be scored across multiple rounds during the Event, with Winners selected by a judging panel comprised of industry professionals.

8.

Winner notification

Winners will be notified in person at the completion of the Event.

9.

Conduct

Entrants must comply with all lawful and reasonable directions given by the Organiser (or its agents, contractors or affiliates) including in relation to the use of any equipment, and in relation to conduct during the Event. Individuals or teams may be disqualified by the Organiser for displaying inappropriate behaviour during the course of the Event. The judges and Organiser may, at their sole discretion, award a Prize to another team in the event of disqualifying conduct.

10.

Cost of Entry

Entrants are responsible for any costs associated with entering the Event including costs associated with accessing the internet and purchasing tickets to attend the Event. The Organiser is not responsible for any problems with communications networks and use of mechanical or electronic tools.

11.

Recording at the Event and your consent

Unless Entrants expressly inform the Organiser in writing otherwise (with the Organiser’s express acknowledgement of receipt), you hereby consent to:

  • the recording of you (or, where applicable, your child) by any means including but not limited to audio and visual recordings by cameras and photographers engaged by the Organiser at the Event and including those photographs and/or videos shared by each Entrant in their participation in the Event; and
  • the use of any such recordings by the Organiser or their commercial partners for promotional, marketing, broadcasting or reporting purposes in any media worldwide without any additional compensation to me or any person acting on my behalf.

Entrants acknowledge and agree that the Organiser may use and distribute content and materials (including drink ideas or recipes) produced or taken at the Event in any and all media (without any payment to Entrants), for promotional and/or corporate purposes in connection with Sanitarium’s brands and products.

12.

Receipt of Entries

Neither the Organiser nor any other entity associated with the Event will be responsible for any late, lost, misdirected, corrupted, incomplete, or incorrectly submitted entries. Entries are deemed to be submitted at the time of receipt by the Organiser or its agents.

13.

Social media terms

If you have any questions or comments about the Event, please direct them to the Organiser (contact details below), not any relevant social media platform. The Event is in no way sponsored by, endorsed or administered by any social media platform including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or TikTok and Entrants release all relevant social media platforms from any and all liability and agree to comply with any of their applicable terms of use.

14.

Organiser’s Rights

The Organiser reserves the right to, upon providing reasonable notice to the Entrants:

  • to terminate this Event or amend any aspect of this Event (including the Prize) without notice at any time in its sole discretion if the Event or any aspect of same cannot be reasonably conducted as planned; and
  • enforce any of its rights at any stage and failure to do so does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

15.

Liability

The Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is or may be suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is or may be suffered or sustained, in connection with participation in the Event or accepting any Prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. This includes but is not limited to any tax liability or tax implications.

16.

Privacy

The information collected about Entrants in the course of the Event has been requested to enable the Organiser to conduct the Event in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, and for the Organiser to send you additional information or marketing material, in accordance with the Sanitarium Privacy Policy which can be found here: Privacy | Sanitarium Health Food Company

A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Organiser at their address below.

Organiser

The Organiser is Australian Health & Nutrition Association Limited ABN 63 096 452 872 trading as Sanitarium Health Food Company. All decisions of the Organiser are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
